Spanish Formula One team Hispania Racing is missing from the 2013 Formula One Championship team list which was revealed by FIA on its website. The team was to pay the FIA registration fee of $US 500,000 to confirm its entry before November 30 when the team list was announced.

Thesan Capital had announced before the 2012 US Grand Prix that the team was up for sale and that they were looking for buyers before the next season. Now it is being speculated that the next season may have only 11 teams in the championship.

Founded by former Formula One driver Adrian Campos, and formally known as Campos Meta 1, Hispania Racing team failed to score a single point in the three seasons since its inception. The team had recently relocated its headquarters to Madrid to revive its Spanish image as Campos had originally planned with Luiz- Perez Sala as Team Principal.

The team had beaten Marussia in the last two years to finish second last but finished last in the 2012 season with Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan as its drivers. HRT will be the second team to drop out after Japan’s Super Aguri exited in 2008.
